Our History

1910 Katsuhei Kobashi opened a blacksmith’s workshop in Okayama Japan, which grew to become Kobashi Industries.
1950 Kobashi invented a multifunction tiller implement, which became subsidized by the Governor’s Office of Okayama Prefecture.
1952 Kobashi Farming-Implements Manufacturing Corporation Inc. (Kobashi) was established.
1953 Kobashi developed a new multifunction tiller and received a Governor’s Awards for Invention in Okayama.
1957 Kobashi developed equipment to manufacture tiller blades, and initiated mass production.
1960 The Kobashi Farming-Implements Manufacturing Inc. and the Kobashi Blacksmith Industry Co.
Ltd merged, and Kobashi Industries Co. Ltd (Kobashi Industries) was newly established.
1961 Kobashi Industries completed a tiller-blade plant in Okayama Japan.
1962 The plant expanded to include a continuous heat-treating furnace, enabling increased production.
1963 Kobashi Industries developed an automatic rolling shear line for molding shapes of tiller blades (received an Award for Excellence from the Japan Institute of Invention and Innovation, and a Governor’s Award for Invention in Okayama).
1964 Kobashi Industries developed the first rotary tiller for large-sized tractors in Japan, and initiated production.
1967 Kobashi Industries opened a new sales office in Hokkaido Japan.
1971 Kobashi Industries invented a center-drive type rotary tiller and received an Okayama Branch President's Award from the Japan Institute of Invention and Innovation.
1974 Kobashi Industries initiated production of the “Z-Tiller Blade,” an Alloy Tiller-Blade.
1976 Kobashi Kinzoku (Metals) Co. Ltd was founded as a subsidiary of Kobashi Industries.
1978 An automated production line for tiller-blades was completed.
1979 A capital increase to 100 million yen was announced.
1980 Teruhisa Kobashi, the President and CEO of Kobashi Industries received Japan’s Medal of Honor for his innovation of molding production equipment of tiller-blades and his great performance in agricultural implement industry. Construction of the new Kobashi Industries Headquarters was completed. Kobashi Industries received an award for developing an automated rolling molding production method for tiller blades.(Okayama Branch President’s Award from Japan Institute of Invention and Innovation)
1981 Kobashi Soko (Storage) Co. Ltd was established as a subsidiary of Kobashi Industries. Kobashi Industries started production and distribution of snowplows.
A capital increase to 150 million yen was announced.
1983 Corporate Identity (CI) was established
The “S.S. Nata Tiller-blade” was developed (received a Okayama Branch President’s Award from the Japan Institute of Invention and Innovation)
1988 The first tiller-blade for soil puddling was developed (received an Okayama Branch President’s
Award from the Japan Institute of Invention and Innovation)
1990 A new system of administration was established under the new President and CEO of Kobashi Industries.
1992 Kobashi Industries started development and distribution of “Poty,” a self-propelled potato-harvester.
1994 An upgraded version of the SC tiller-blade was developed, with higher performance in soil-crushing and plowing-in.
1995 Kobashi Industries started distribution of “Rooty,” a self-propelled carrot-harvester.
1997 Kobashi Industries started distribution of “Hyper-Rotor,” a standardized rotary tiller.
1998 Kobashi Industries started distribution of “Sofy,” a self-propelled green-onion harvester.
2002 Kobashi Industries started distribution of “Cyber Harrow (Japanese-English),” a folding harrow for soil puddling. Kobashi Industries implemented the Toyota Production System (TPS).
2003 The newly constructed second administrative building (Monozukuri-kan) was completed
2006 Kobashi Industries started distribution of “Cyber Harrow (Japanese-English) with New Flow Method” and “Gaia,” an automatic ridge-plastering machine.
2007 Kobashi Industries acquired the “AAA” (triple A) grade for the medium-sized corporation” from R&I (Rating and Investment Information).
Kobashi Industries started distribution of “ZR,” a large-sized ridge-plastering machine.
2008 “Sozokan” a newly constructed building for product development in Kobashi Industries Headquarters was completed.
2010 Kobashi Industries celebrated the 100th anniversary of its establishment and the 50th anniversary of incorporation(of Kobashi Industries Co. Ltd.)
2011 Kobashi Industries started distribution of “Earth,” a breakthrough rotary tiller that can remove attached soil from the implement.
Kobashi Industries simultaneously became ISO9001、ISO14001, and OHSAS18001 certified.
2014 Kobashi Industries upgraded its core computer system for sales and storage administration.
Kobashi Industries upgraded the “Gaia” series, an automatic ridge-plastering machine.
Kobashi Industries started distribution of “Smart Gaia XRS.”
Kobashi Industries started an internship program for students.
2015 Kobashi Industries upgraded “Superseries” farm implements and started distribution of the large-sized Cyber Harrow TXV and TXZ(Japanese-English).
2016 Kobashi Industries started distribution of the large-sized Cyber Harrow “TXF” (Japanese-English).
A new system of administration was established under the new President and CEO of Kobashi Industries.
